BIOGRAPHY

Leigh Dana is currently a reporter with NBC-2 in Fort Myers, Florida. She comes from WBNG in Binghamton, New York, where she won a 2011 New York State Broadcasters Association Award for Best Hard News Story on abused children.

While working in the Twin Tiers, Leigh has covered every type of story – from state politics and court trials, to a 91 year old woman keeping her dead relatives inside her home. In fact, Leigh uncovered the story of Jean Stevens from Wyalusing – before State Police even held a press conference on discovering their mummified remains.

One of Leigh’s favorite stories was going on a ride-a-long 12,000 feet in the air with the U.S. Navy’s Golden Knights. While she didn’t get to jump out of the plane with them, she did ride right next to the open door.

Leigh also reported for News 12 Networks in Brooklyn and the Bronx as well as Living In Media Magazine. She wrote stories about people on the move in her local community. Leigh had the opportunity to interview MY Fox Philadelphia’s Meteorologist SallyAnn Mosey, for the cover story. Leigh's start in television began as an intern with Fox News, where she reported on several stories for air.

Besides the news, Leigh is a musical theater expert and very knowledgeable about arts, entertainment and fashion. She has been taking dance lessons since she was 1 1/2 and absolutely loves seeing Broadway shows and going to the beach.

Leigh is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Montclair State University in New Jersey and earned her degree in 3 ½ years.
